Bem sei que estamos em plena Páscoa, mas preciso de voltar ao Natal! É verdade... No final do ano anterior participei na famosa troca de Natal organizada pela Chookyblue, mas ainda nem percebi como é que ontem era Dezembro e hoje já é Abril... Bem,cá estou para mostrar o que enviei para a Austrália, para a Kate...

Exchanging With Kathy!

Já passou quase um mês desde o meu último post... O trabalho tem sido intenso e só agora, finalmente, se avizinham uns dias de descanso! Neste período, aconteceu uma troca especial com a Kathy, que não conheço pessoalmente mas que, graças ao mundo dos blogs, se tornou uma amiga também ela especial. Além de ser uma pessoa muito generosa, é uma crafter talentosa, que se dedica aos bordados e ao patchwork. A minha casa chegaram, das suas mãos, muitos miminhos:

It's been almost a month since my last post.... Work has been crazy and only now, finally, a few rest days are arriving! Meanwhile, a special exchange has happened whith Kathy. She is someone I never met in person but, thanks to blogland became a dear and special friend. Besides being a very generous person, she is also a talented stitcher and quilter. To my house arrived, from her hands, lots of goodies:

Quatro magníficos individuais bordados, tecido, linhas e esquemas do mesmo tipo de bordado, uma bolsinha feita com um tecido muito bonito, uma caixinha para guardar fios em viagem, uma tesoura com um "fob" de contas e um amoroso fio com um coração azul de vidro fundido. Adorei cada pequeno detalhe! Embra já lhe tenha agradecido, impõe-se um novo "Obrigada!".

Four gorgeous embroidered placemats, stitching fabric, thread and patterns, a zippered bag made with lovely fabric, a thread catcher, a beautiful scissors with beaded fob and an adorable blue heart necklace. Loved every detail! Although I already thanked her, a new "Thank you!" is in order!

Mostro-vos um pequeno detalhe de cada individual, delicadamente bordado em ponto sueco, que eu não conhecia. Agora tenho que arranjar um tempinho para usar os materiais que a Kathy me enviou e experimentar esta técnica!

Here is a little detail from each placemat, skilfully embroidered in swedish weaving (or huck embroidery), which I didn't knew. Now I have to find some time to give it a try with the material I received from Kathy!

Surprise Mail!

Esta semana recebi, inesperadamente, uma magnífica surpresa da Carole, uma das minhas parceiras no SSCS em 2008! E quando refiro que foi inesperado é porque foi mesmo! Ocasionalmente visito o seu blog, mas não mantivemos um contacto regular, por isso me surpreendeu tanto...

Além de um postal espectacular, que reproduz um quilt com relevo, enviou-me um conjunto dos belíssimos tecidos da colecção Rouenneries by French General, da Moda. Já os tinha apreciado em alguns blogs, mas ao vivo acho-os ainda mais bonitos! Terei, alguma vez, coragem para cortá-los?

Nem sei descrever a emoção que senti ao ver que alguém que nunca conheci pessoalmente se lembrou de me desejar um bom ano de forma tão generosa... Este mundo dos blogs é muito especial! Apesar de já lhe ter enviado um mail a agradecer, tenho que fazê-lo aqui: OBRIGADA Carole!

This week I received, unexpectedly, a wonderful surprise from Carole, one of my partners in 2008 SSCS! And when I say it was unexpected it's because it really was! Occasionally I visit her blog, but we haven't kept a regular contact, that's why I was so surprised...

In addition to a lovely post-card with a quilt reproduction, she sent a bundle of gorgeous fabrics from Rouenneries by Frensh General, from Moda. I had seen them in some blogs, but they are even prettier alive! Will I ever have the heart to cut them?

I can't describe the emotion I felt having someone I never met in person remembering to wish me a good year in such a generous way... The blog world is very special! Although I've already mailed her, I have to say it here: THANK YOU Carole!

SSCS 2009

Num post anterior já mostrei em detalhe os enfeites de Natal que recebi e enviei na SSCS 09. Agora, com um pouco de atraso, é a vez de mostrar todo o conteúdo desta troca natalícia...

No envelope que recebi da Austrália, recheado pela Kris, encontrei muitas surpresas! Chegou muito bem recheado! Adorei tudo o que ela fez com carinho e todos os extras que lhe juntou! Obrigada Kris!

In a previous post, I already showed the Christmas ornaments I received and sent in SSCS 09. Now, a little bit behind, I'm showing all the contents of this Christmas Swap...

In the envelope I received from Australia, filled by Kris, I found many surprises! I loved everything and I can tell she put a lot of affection in every detail! Thanks Kris!

Enfeites de Natal / Christmas Ornaments (SSCS 09)

O tempo tem voado, o trabalho tem sido muito e aquilo de que mais gosto tem ficado para segundo plano... Enfim, não tenho sido uma boa "blogueira" nem uma crafter assídua... O pouco que tenho feito destinou-se à minha segunda participação no Intercâmbio SSCS 09. Desta vez, além do presente para abrir na noite de Natal, as participantes deviam confeccionar um enfeite para colocar na árvore de Natal, por isso é a única coisa que podemos mostar antes do dia de Natal...

Time flies, I've been busily engaged in work and that turns me in a bad blogger and absent crafter... The only things made were destined to my second round at SSCS 09. This time, besides the main gift for Christmas day, we were asked to make an ornament for the Christmas tree, so that's the only thing we can show for now...

From Australia arrived two gorgeous angels, and they will be in my Christmas tree as soon as can find time to put the Christmas decorations around the house... It's true, I haven't done that yet... Soon... Thanks Kris, I love them!

E também da Austrália recebi este prémio, "The Splash award", o qual passo a todos os que me visitam (como pedido de desculpa pelo meu absentismo)! Obrigada Kathryn, é sempre bom saber que alguém de longe, que só nos conhece virtualmente, pensa em nós!

Natal em Maio! / Christmas in May!

É verdade! O carteiro cá da zona trouxe-me uns presentinhos! Até parece que é Natal!

It's true! The postman brought me some presents! It looks like Christmas!

Da Argentina chegaram estas delícias, enviadas pela Sandra. É que ela organizou um intercâmbio de Natal, em Dezembro do ano passado, no qual participei. Como não cheguei a receber o que me enviou a minha parceira, a Sandra, com muito profissionalismo e dedicação, não quis que eu ficasse sem nada e enviou-se um magnífico pequeno quadro com a inicial do meu nome e um perfumado coração. Adorei as lembranças e o carinho que ela colocou em cada uma das peças! Obrigada Sandra!

From Argentina arrived these goodies, sent by Sandra. She organized a Christmas swap last December, and I joined it. Unfortunately, I didn't received what my partner sent me, so Sandra, very professionally and with affection, sent me a wonderful painting with my initial and a beautiful scented heart. I loved everything and I can tell that it was made with love. Thank you Sandra!

Felizmente, o que enviei à minha parceira Amira não se perdeu e isto foi o que ela recebeu nesse intercâmbio. Na confecção do saco usei o modelo da Abyquilt.

Luckily, what I sent to my partner Amira was not lost, and this is what she received. For the bag I used Abyquilt's pattern.

De outras paragens (Havai), recebi também muito carinho. A Arlette colocou recentemente um giveaway no seu blog e eu fui uma das cinco felizes premiadas... Nem queria acreditar, pois visito-a frequentemente e fico sempre impressionada com a sua criaividade e talento. Ao abrir o envelope esperava encontrar uma das bolsas sorteadas, mas, para minha surpresa, ela vinha cheia de outros mimos! Chocolates, uma bonita bolsinha para jóias e dois dos seus originais chupa-chupas! Nem imaginam a minha reacção! Fiquei deliciada! Obrigada Arlette!

From Hawaii, I also received something especial! Arlette had recently a giveaway on her blog and I was one of the five lucky winners... I couldn't believe it! I usually visit her blog and I'm always impressed with her talent. When I opened the envelope, I was expecting one of the bags she was giving away, but, unexpectedly, the gorgeous bag was filled with other goodies! Chocolates, a little jewellery bag and two of her delicious lollipops! You can't even imagine my reaction! I was thrilled! Thank you Arlette!

Secret Santa Christmas Swap

A Chookyblue organizou um enorme intercâmbio natalício no qual adorei participar. Ela conseguiu coordenar, de forma exemplar, 156 participantes de vários países.

Chookyblue organized, very professionally, a huge Christmas swap with 156 participants from different countries. I was one of them and had great fun, because it was a secret swap. Thank you Chookyblue for hosting this swap and I hope you do it again next year! Please, continue to be our Elf!

Para a Carole enviei um saco para guardar os seus trabalhos, o qual fiz seguindo um tutorial da May Britt, com um bordado cujo modelo encontrei aqui. A combinar, fiz também um alfineteiro e juntei um saquinho de cheiro bordado, um colar, uns botões vintage, um conjunto de chitas, um Pai Natal, chocolates...

To Carole I sent a bag that I made following a May Britt tutorial, with a stitchery that I found here. I also made her a matching pincushion and added a little perfumed and embroidered bag, a necklace, some vintage buttons, fat quarters of portuguese cotton fabric ("Chitas"), a Santa, chocolates...

Recebi da Missy um pacote, em meados de Dezembro, o qual só abri na noite de Natal, já que se tratava de um intercâmbio natalício. Dentro dele encontrei um bonito avental com bolsos tamanho XL, uma caixinha amorosa com linhas de bordar e uns stickers com motivos de Natal.

In mid-December I received from Misssy a package that I only opened on Christmas night. Inside I found a beautiful apron with big pockets, a lovely box with embroidery floss and some Christmas stickers. Once again, thank you Missy!

Uma vez mais, bordei em linho de 32 ct, com linhas DMC. As fotografias não saíram grande coisa, foram tiradas com pouca luz...

Once again, I stitched in 32 ct linen with DMC thread. The pictures are not the best ones, the light wasn't enough...

Fair Squares

Desta vez, a minha parceira no Fair Squares - Round 9 foi a Jen. Enviei-lhe uma pequena família, bordada em linho de 32 ct, com linha DMC, e recebi umas abelhinhas amorosas. Obrigada Jen!

This time, my partner from Fair Squares - Round 9 was Jen. I sent her a little red family, stitched on 32ct linen, with DMC thread, and received lovely working bees. Thank you Jen!

Bag Swap e Prémios / Awards

Recebi ontem, com grande entusiasmo, o que me enviou a minha amiga secreta no intercâmbio organizado (uma vez mais com muito profissionalismo!) pela Linda! Desta vez, foi minha parceira a Brigitte, uma simpática alemã que vive na Polónia.
Enviou-me um magnífico saco inspirado num modelo japonês, feito a partir de um tecido construído por ela com pedacinhos de vários tecidos (alguns minúsculos!), a que chama "crazy fabric". Alguns bocados estão bordados de forma muito original. Um trabalho perfeito!Adorei!

Yesterday I received, enthusiastically, what my secret friend from the Bag Swap organized (once again very professionally!) by Linda! My partner was Brigitte, a nice german that lives in Poland.

It was a gorgeous bag, inspired in a japanese pattern, built in what she calls "crazy fabric", a fabric that she has made with lots of other facbrics (some of them little, little scraps!). She added tiny little knots and other stitcheries. A perfection! I loved it!

Junto com o saco, recebi outros mimos: chocolate e chá (deliciosos!), um lindo monograma produzido numa fábrica local, uma carteira de agulhas vintage e mais agulhas para a máquina. A acompanhar tudo, uma carta muito simpática! Obrigada Brigitte!

She also sent other goddies: chocolate, tea (both delicious!), a beautiful monogram produced in a local factory, an oldfashioned needlebook and other machine needles. With everything came a nice letter! Thank you Brigitte!

Neste intercâmbio, fui amiga secreta da Kathryn, uma australiana igualmente simpática. Enviei-lhe um saco em linho, com aplicações e bordado, ao qual juntei uns acessórios a condizer. A acompanhar, umas rendas portuguesas. Nas suas preferências, entraram as cores rosa, branco, verde e o estilo "Shabby Cottage". Aliás, este é o estilo dos trabalhos lindíssimos que partilha connosco no seu blog.

In this swap I was the secret friend of Kathryn, also a very nice girl. I sent her a bag with some stitchery and added some other matching stitching /sewing acessories and some portuguese laces. In her preferences: pinks, whites, greens, anything "Shabby Cottage". Thats the style of the beautiful projects that she shares with us on her blog.

Cupcake swap

A Sharon organizou um intercâmbio no qual todos os artigos enviados deviam relacionar-se com o tema: "Cupcake". Claro que participei! Tive como parceira a Tami, que me enviou um magnífico Cupcake tricotado e um lindo saco com aplicações do mesmo motivo. O chocolate que se vê na fotografia? Era delicioso...

Sharon organized a Cupcake Swap and all the items should be related to the theme. I joined it, of course! My partner was Tami and she sent me a gorgeous knitted cupcake and a beautiful tote bag with more... cupcakes. The chocolate on the picture? It was delicious...

Para a Tami fiz um individual, no qual usei como tecido base um pouco de um que já aqui tinha aparecido (o de xadrez cor de rosa), pois foi-me oferecido pela Ximena num outro intercâmbio em que participei - veio do Chile, passou uns tempos em Portugal e agora foi morar nos Estados Unidos... Isto dos intercâmbios tem a sua graça... Fiz também um bloco de notas e uma carteirinha, tudo com..."Cupcakes", claro!

For Tami I made a table individual, where I used a little of a fabric already refered here (the pink chess one), that I received from Ximena in another swap I joined - it arrived from Chile, spent some time in Portugal and now lives in USA... Swaps are fun... I also made her a Sweet Notebook and a little pouch in cupcake fabric, of course!
