Pronúncia do Norte / North Pronunciation

Last weekend was a long one and, after several stressing work weeks, that didn't even allow me to take care of this blog, we took a much needed pause. And for us, that means travelling! This time, and once again without previous planning, we went North... to visit the O' Porto city... As usual, we were well received, the food was great and we had a lot of fun. The thing I found odd is the pronunciation way and some vocabulary north people use... Despite being a little country, Portugal has a big and rich linguistic variety! And I'm certain that when north folks visit the south, they feel the same!

O' Porto has a special charm, with it's several bridges crossing Douro river and a unic riverine area. Besides walking through the city, this time we visited Serralves, the modern Music House and, has good tourists, we went on a river cruise by the Douro.

A zona ribeirinha... / The riverine area...

Pontes e mais pontes... / Bridges and more bridges...

Magnificent tiles on old building façades...

Churches with spectacular exterior tiles panels...

O belo Douro... / The beautiful Douro...

As vinhas, onde se produz a matéria prima para o vinho do Porto, que eu tanto aprecio...
The vineards, where they produce the raw material for the delicious O'Porto wine...

Serralves e o seu belo jardim... / Serralves and it's beautiful garden...
A poliédrica Casa da Música... / The polyhedric Music House...

And everything was ready for the approaching Saint John's festival!

Second of all, I have had the pleasure of living in O Porto and it is indeed a beautiful and magical city, just like my hometown, Rio de Janeiro!
